About

She’s been on both sides of the table. That’s the difference.

Liz Handlin has been writing resumes and guiding executive careers since 1990 — with the HR, recruiting, and executive leadership experience to know exactly what lands.

Liz Handlin, CEO

A career built at the intersection of talent and leadership.

Before founding Ultimate Resumes, Liz held senior roles that most resume writers only read about. She served at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, was Director of Human Resources for APV across the U.S. and Latin America, and was Director of Recruiting for Deloitte & Touche’s Illinois Practice. She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.

That means when Liz reads your resume, she’s reading it the way a Director of Recruiting at a Big Four firm would — because she was one. She knows what hiring managers skip, what makes them stop, and what gets a senior candidate into the conversation.

“After years helping colleagues write powerful resumes as a hobby, I realized this was the work I was meant to do.”

Liz launched Ultimate Resumes in June 2004 and has since worked with senior executives at companies ranging from venture-backed startups to Fortune 500 publicly traded companies.

Beyond the Work

Austin-based. Chicago Cubs fan. Dog person.
